Cascina Cucco is located in Serralunga d’Alba, at the foot of the 14th century castle from which it commands the whole area of Alba Langhe. The Serralunga valley is mostly considered very important in Barolo territory for the peculiarity of wine product.

“Cucco” is a vineyard, one of the most qualitative in the Barolo area also giving the name to the winery.

A 19th wine-farm was taken over by Stroppiana family, enlightened entrepreneurs and owners of “MONDO SPA” Group, by Cappellano family in 1966. At the end of ’90 the Stroppiana decided to refurbish and invest with style and very good taste in this estate. They have aimed the high quality pursued with modesty and respecting the Piedmonts tradition and professionalism;

this was possible also thanks to a highly qualified staff made up by the wine expert Giuseppe Caviola and the agronomist Gianpiero Romana.

The grapes come by 12 hectares of owned land and they are mostly grown on calcareous-clayey ground, not very deep, with marlstone cropped out because of high erosion on the most sunny hillsides.

The important sandy portion gives a very intense and persistent scent.

The produced wine, with a total quantity of about 70.000 bottles, has high structure, complexity and longevity.
